Sealer is a surface treatment on the field of the slab—aftercare or overlay protection, not the same job as resealing joints. Mixing the two words mis-sets the scope and the bid. If you are shopping “concrete sealing,” say whether you mean joints, the slab surface, or both.
High-level process—not a DIY tutorial that replaces the visit:
Remove failed filler; clean and dry the joint faces; set closed-cell backer rod so the sealant bonds on two sides (three-sided bond tears under movement); apply a flexible polyurethane joint sealant suited to horizontal traffic (self-leveling grades are common on flat driveway joints). When overlay is on the table, failed joints and poor drainage are two of the candidacy checks—not optional add-ons. If the field of the slab is sound but joints are open, resealing (and any edge patch) can be part of preparing that slab for a bonded overlay. If the slab is already rocking or washed out, joint work alone will not salvage an overlay bid.

Think in cost drivers—not invented linear-foot prices. Drivers include lineal extent of joints, how much failed material must come out, edge spall repair, access, and whether overlay or section replace is also required.
