Olsen Concrete sandblasts concrete to strip old paint, failed coatings and sealers, graffiti, rust and heavy stains, and to profile surfaces before overlays, coatings or sealers. We work on homes and commercial properties across King, Snohomish, Skagit and Pierce County.
What we use sandblasting for
- Removing peeling paint, epoxy and failed sealers from driveways, garage floors and patios
- Graffiti removal from walls, curbs, columns and retaining walls
- Rust, efflorescence and heavy stain removal
- Exposing aggregate for a decorative, non-slip finish
- Surface profiling before overlays, coatings, polishing or sealing, so new materials bond properly
- Cleaning concrete walls, foundations, steps and columns
The right prep method for the job
Sandblasting is one of several surface prep methods. Depending on the surface we may grind, shot-blast or use heated pressure washing instead. We pick the method that gets the result without damaging the concrete, and we contain dust and debris around landscaping, vehicles and neighbors. See also peeling sealer removal and grinding vs shot-blasting.
Questions we get asked
Will sandblasting damage my concrete?
Done correctly, sandblasting removes coatings and stains while taking off only a thin layer of the surface. We adjust the pressure and media to the job and test a small area first.
Can you remove graffiti from concrete walls?
Yes. Sandblasting or hot-water pressure washing removes most graffiti from concrete and masonry, and a sealer can make future graffiti easier to remove.
